MIMIT Skills Call for SMEs: E-commerce Training with 50% Non-Repayable Grant
Unlock your team's growth: discover how to update operational skills on Shopify and PrestaShop by leveraging the state's non-repayable grant for projects ranging from €10,000 to €60,000.
Having a high-performing e-commerce platform is just the first pillar of online success. Without advanced technical proficiency, companies risk wasting resources and losing conversion opportunities. The call for proposals from the MIMIT (Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy) for the development of specialized skills offers Small and Medium Enterprises the opportunity to train their staff on key digital technologies, covering 50% of the investment with a non-repayable grant for training plans between €10,000 and €60,000.
Key Details of the MIMIT Incentive
Beneficiaries
Eligible Entities: Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Italy.
Guaranteed access for companies regularly registered with the Business Register.
Grant & Amounts
Contribution: Non-repayable grant covering 50% of the training plan.
Eligible Expense Range: from a minimum of €10,000 to a maximum of €60,000.
Training Scope
Skills: E-commerce management, workflow automation, and process optimization.
Practical courses focused on improving operational efficiency and margins.
Territorial Requirement: Southern Italy Regions
The MIMIT call for proposals (SME specialized skills development) is intended exclusively for the less developed regions of Southern Italy. To access the grant, the applicant company must conduct training activities in one or more local units (operational or legal headquarters) located in one of these 7 regions:
Important detail for companies with other offices:
If the company's legal headquarters are in Northern or Central Italy, the company can still participate provided that:
- It has (or activates before disbursement) an operational local unit in one of the 7 Southern regions listed above.
- The employees involved in the training program are assigned to/work at the Southern local unit where the activity takes place.
Delivery Method: In-Person Training Only
No, the training must be conducted exclusively in person.
The MIMIT implementing decrees establish that for this specific call, distance learning (FAD / e-learning), hybrid modes, or on-the-job training are not permitted.
Where and how should it take place?
- Mandatory in-person attendance: The teacher/trainer must be physically in the classroom with the employees.
- Location of lessons: Normally, it takes place at the company's local unit located in the South (Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Sardinia, Sicily). If the company does not have suitable spaces, lessons can be held at the trainer's headquarters or another suitable facility identified in Southern Italy.
- Traceability: As these are in-person lessons, reporting requires daily signing of a paper attendance register by teachers and employees, in addition to timesheets.
Operational note for clients: If you are considering this incentive for your company, this is a fundamental detail to highlight: to benefit from the non-repayable grant, operational support and classroom sessions must be planned directly on-site.
